New Products Coming to You from Constellation Brands!

Feb 10, 2020

Hart Agency is the first to be in the know about product launches from our clients. This week we've got insights from Constallation Brands! We're sure you're familiar with most of their products, but be sure to look out for the NEWEST on the shelves and in menus throughout New York!

KIM CRAWFORD

One of the most popular Sauvignon Blancs on the market is Kim Crawford. From New Zealand where the Sauvignon Blanc grape is known to thrive, this wine has the classic flavors of citrus, grapefruit, melon, and herbs. Fruity and crisp with a lingering finish, this pairs perfectly with oysters & seafood, salads, light dishes, or balanced with spicy Asian food.

If you're looking for something a soft yet distinctive, try another one of our favorites from Kim Crawford: their Rosé! You'll find rich notes of fruits such as strawberry & watermelon. Perfect for this week's Valentine's dinner, it's fabulous paired with light appetizers and desserts.

We're excited they are introducing both of these wines in convenient CANS! Canned products are increasingly popular, with everything to malt beverages to pre-made cocktails & wine available on the market. The same juice that you'll find in the bottle will be available as a 250ml can, sold individually or in a 2 pack unit. We love the easy accessibility of the elegant & discreet slim packaging. Ideal for rooftop gatherings, parties, drinking poolside, casual get-together's, or any time you want a single serve portion ready to go!

 7 MOONS

7 Moons Wines are comprised of seven different grape varietals that are integrated into a delicious and easy drinking line of wines. Inspired by the phases of the moon; Syrah, Petite Syrah, Merlot, Zinfandel, Cabernet, Malbec, & Grenache blend together in perfect harmony.

From these grapes they have created the Red Blend which has notes of rich fruit such as cherries & strawberries, along with chocolate & baking spices to create a lingering finish that pairs well with a wide variety of dishes. You really can drink this with any meal!

From there, they created a Dark Red Blend by using the same 7 grapes to create an even bolder red. Caramel, berry, & brown sugar flavors come together in a rich, smooth finish. Enhance the flavors of a heavy meal with this wine, while still retaining a drink-ability that can be enjoyed for the entire night.

Their newest blend, once again using the same 7 grapes, is the 7 Moons Rosé.  Rosés are made with red grapes while resting the skin in the juice for a small amount of time to get that beautiful pale pink color and refreshing quality of a white wine. Notes of strawberry, white peach, grapefruit, melon, and watermelon marry together for a wine that is excellent for any event. Fans of 7 Moons will be thrilled to have something new for Rosé Season, while staying loyal to a brand already know and love.

WOODBRIDGE by Robert Mondavi

Another current trend on the market is "Spirit Aged Wines", or SAW for short. We're cautious to use the term "trend" because this popular way of aging wines looks like it's here to stay. The wines are rested in used bourbon, tequila, rum, and brandy barrels which contribute nuance to the already flavorful wines.

Constellation has its line of Robert Mondavi Private Selection Spirit Aged Wines, and now they're introducing the Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Barrel-Aged Wine CollectionLet us tell you, the response our brand ambassadors had to sampling these wines was overwhelmingly positive. We wish you could have been in the room with us to experience it.

The Chardonnay is aged in Rum Barrels, with characteristics of tropical fruit, warm spice, and a creaminess that balances the citrus of the grapes. You get hints of coconut and a sweet rum finish that will have any "non-chardonnay" drinker changing their tune.

The Red Blend and Cabernet are both aged in Bourbon Barrels, which create lingering, bold finishes in both wines. The Red Blend carries flavors of dark berries, plums, and vanilla - incredibly drinkable and fantastic for everyone from the novice wine drinker to the experienced wine enthusiast; while the Cabernet has structure balanced by blackberries, chocolate, and cinnamon. Great for someone who is looking for a little more "oomph" with a slightly dryer finish.

Another great perk? These wines ring in at 13.5% ABV thanks to the spirit aging, so a little goes a long way if you're looking to wind down after a hard day's work.

COOPER & THIEF

Another leader in the Spirit Aged Wines category is Cooper & Thief, with three delicious wines currently in their portfolio: the Sauvignon Blanc which is aged in Tequila Barrels, Red Blend aged in Bourbon Barrels, and Cabernet aged in Rye Whiskey Barrels. The winery's slogan is "Born from Mischief", which is bred from the concept of breaking away from stuffy custom to create a new & innovative way of celebrating wine.

Their name says a lot too: a "Cooper" refers to a tradesman who makes wooden barrels by hand, and a "Thief" is the tool used to extract a taste from those barrels.

New to the collection is the Cooper & Thief Pinot Noir, which is aged in Brandy Barrels. The 2018 is the first vintage to be available, and since it was a good year for harvest with plentiful rainfall, the grapes were able to mature in a way that resulted in rich flavor. Composed of 82% Pinot Noir, this wine is blended with 4% Petite Sirah & 4% Petit Verdot to create structure and balance. The Brandy Barrels add spice & an oak-y finish to the already jammy quality of the grapes. The wine is bright and intricate without being overly formal. It also packs a punch at 16% ABV, so it's great to enjoy with a variety of foods for balance.

Where do they get their Barrels? Part of their mischief is they won't tell us! But we do love to guess.... Let us know if you can pick up the notes of a specific brand when you try it. We'd love to hear from you in the comments below.

At this time, you can only find this in a select number of stores.  Check out their website for store & restaurant locations, which will update as it is more widely available. We're sure this will become a go-to for many wine drinkers & will soon be available in virtually every retail store.

We're excited to be able to introduce the newest to our fans, and are thankful to Constellation Brands for the opportunity to share with you. Hart Agency will be doing promotions for these wines coming up, so look out for live updates on our social media pages.

By the way, all of these wines are great for your Valentine's Day Dinner! Be sure to tag us on social media with a picture of your favorite Constellation Brand product that you and your sweetheart (or Galentine) are enjoying! @hartagency

What is Tequila? Tequila is a distilled spirit and a type of mezcal. The liquor is made from agave plants and produced only in specific parts of Mexico. Depending on where the agave is grown, the taste of tequila can vary by the bottle. Similar to the way whiskey can be broken down into more specific categories like bourbon and scotch, tequila can be broken down as well. There are three main types of tequila—blanco (silver, unaged), reposado (aged for 2 to 9 months in wood barrels), and añejo (aged for a minimum of 1 year in wood barrels).
